DECEMBER DAIRYING.
GOOD MONTH FOR PRODUCTION Although December was a dry month the lack of rain was not felt until towards the end of that period and on most farms there was a fairly-good growth of grass. The milk production dropped slightly but higher tests brought the total butterfat up and in many cases December was a more profitable month than November, which is usually the flush period. As an instance of this, Mr. W. R. Lowry, of Morrinsville, states that his four large herds gave greater (Quantities of butterfat for the last month than they had previously done for any November or December for the past eight years.
