A novelty in alarm clocks was inspected at Greymouth by a reporter a few days ago (reports the Greymouth Evening Star). Instead of the usual bell-ringing, the alarm consisted of musical selections, reminiscent of the old-fashioned musical box. The clock was made in Germany. Whether the strains of music will induce sleep, instead of the< intended wakefulness, remains to be seen.
