The flagshio at the Bluff regatta on New Year’s Day was the old Othello, which is now a dismantled' hulk, but was, in her day, a well-known whaler. The Othello’s claim to greatness, an old resident of the port recalled to a Southland Daily News reporter, was her record trip across from Melbourne to Bluff, the journey being accomplished under sail in four days or less time than the Moeraki and.
