VOLLEY BALL.

Volley ball! A new game is being introduced to Sydney. This game has a great hold in Japan. It originated at the Olympic Games, being introduced by America, ■and the Japanese were quick to take it up. The game is tow played in most of the Japanese colleges and universities. Practice games have already been played in the Domain, but a game staged for last Saturday was the first time two full teams have taken the field against each other in Sydney. The chief officer of the Aki Maru made the request to Burns, Philp and Co. to furnish a team, and led the Jap- ♦ anese side. f* The game is played with 12 men aside on a court 80ft. by 40ft., divided by a net 7ft. 6in. from the ground. The pall —the size of a Soccer ball —is served from the base line, the same as r in tennis. After eleven points are : 4ik scored, the teams change ends, and the team, scoring the first 22 points wins the game.
