classes in, and coming from far afield,, from Waitoa to Putarux-u. There was a good demand, especially for milk cart hoi-ses, and satisfactory prices'* were realised for the most navi. Heavy draughts brought up t x £4O, * and one which was passed in at £42, was sold afterwards for -P-50; good active medium draughts, £2B to £36 10s; heavy draughts from £3» to £4O; . lighter types, suitable fur milk waggons, £2O to £29; di-aught foals, up to £7 10s. Hacks, unbroken, £8 to £lO harness horses and ponies, £6 to £l2 10s ; good harness hoi-ses up to £lB. MATAMATA. Messrs. Dalg-ety and Co.’s regular' stock sale was held at Matamata last week. There was an extraord-max-ily-large yarding, the sale taking until 4 p.m. to clean-, whereas of late months 3 p.m. has generally seen the finish. Pigs : Stores 225, 275, up to 355, light-weight porkers £2 17s, weaners 17s 6d to 255. Dairy cattle, good sorts, £8 10s to £9 ss. Heifers, of which there was a big yarding and of good quality, with keen competition, l-ealised as follow : _ Choice Jersey cross £9 10s, £lO 10s to £l2 10s, Shorthorns £9, £9 10s to £lO, Sihort-hom-Holstein croSi £8 10s to £9, yearling heifers £3, £3 10s to £3 15s-Stoi-es and fats : There was a good muster of both fat and store cattle. Fat cows brought from £7 10s to £9 ss, medium sorts from £6 10s to £9, lighter £5 10s to £6 10s, good storecows £4 10s to £4 15s, two-year-old steers £4 10s to £5 10s, three-year-old steers £8 7s fid to £9 10s. MORRINSVILLE. Dalgety and Co. had a lai’ge yarding of fat and dairy cattle at their' Mori-insville sale on Thursday and some very good prices were realised. A line of 100 well-bred yearling Jer-sey-cross and Shorthorn heifei*s, sold on account of Mr. R. Holmes, of Hamilton, went at the very fair figures from £2 5s to £4 10s. No pigs oi" sheep were oifei-ed. The pi-ices are s Fat cows £6 10s to £9 10s, store cows £4 to £5, yearling heifers £2 5s to £4 10s. Dairy cattle : Cows £3 10s to £l4. FRANKTON. At the Fanners’ Auctioneei-ing Co.’s Frankton sale on Tuesday, 11th August, thei-e was an average yarding of all classes. Competition was , again keen at advanced rates.
