ORPHANS MEETING.

The members of the Putaruru and Arapuni Orphans Club met at Arapuni last Thursday, when, in the absence of Mr. Barcroft, Mr. G. Nickle acted as chairman. On the motion of Messrs. Rolfe and Rabone the appointment of Mr. MacNally as secretary in place of Mr. Baird, resigned, was unanimously agreed to. During the evening- items \vere given by Messrs. Clulie-Perrins, pianoforte selections ; McCullough (songs), “Tales of the Open Air” and “Up From Somerset”; Rabone, “ Admiral’s Broom Hinton, “ Bonnie Mary of Argyle”;, West, anecdotes.
