A claim for £206 as extras on con- 1 tracts for metalling- on the PutaruruTirau road, the metal being* taken from the Waihou pit, was received at Friday’s meeting of the Matamata J County Council from Mr. H. H. Rennie. The main burden of the claim was that the distance from the pit to the Putaruru-Tirau road was given at one and a-half miles, whereas the actual distance, Mr. Rennie alleged, was two miles. The matter was referred to the engineer, he stating that it was an intricate matter and he would report on it in writing. ANDERSON & STUDEBAKER TAXIS. (Comfortable, Commodious, Reliable.)
