MOKAI.
The new meeting house fund for Ongaroto will benefit to the extent of about £ls as the result of an entertainment. given by the Ongaroto ladies in the Mokai Hall on December 6. The audience was large and appreciative and deservedly so, for the poi dances, hakas, part singing and steel guitar solos were most artistic. Dancing competitions were held and caused much merriment; the Monte Carlo waltz being the one feature mostly. NURSE DREW ITT LEAVES. Mokai sustained a great loss last week by the departure of Nurse Drewitt, who had resigned her position to reside at Helensvilie. Nurse Drewitt had proved herself invaluable to the district, throughout which she was greatly loved. She was undoubtedly u most painstaking nurse, and most assiduous in her duties. Before leaving Nurse Drewitt was the recipient of a substantial cheque subscribed by the residents as a token j of appreciation. the: holidays.
