Service poles are now being distributed and erected by an auxiliary gang. Manawaru District: A short distance of low tension line has been wired on Clark’s road between Manawaru and Wardville. Waihou District: The construction of the low tension line near Thomas’ road was completed on the 6th inst. Mortensen’s Road: The wiring of the high and low tension circuits was completed early in the month. A 15 K.V.A. 3300 to 415/240 volt transformer has been installed and the section was made alive oh the 10th inst.
Ngarua: On the . Kereone-Ngarua diagonal road a section of line is now under construction to supply further consumers. Wardville Road: The first 11,000 volt section has been wired up to the junction with Alexandra road. A transformer platform has been constructed and the low tension distribution circuit wired on the extra high tension poles. Okoroire-Hinuera Valley road: A commencement was made on the 25 inst with the construction of this 11,000 Volt line. Matamata: A transformer platform has been constructed and a 50 K.V.A. transformer 11,000 to 415/240 volts, erected to supply the Hinuera Dairy Co/s factory. The extension to Bond’s, off the Waharoa road, was completed about the middle of the month. Larger transformers, to cope with increased loads, have been installed at the following: Putaruru, Taumangi, Maroney’s, Hutchinson’s road, Puketutu and Taihoa. COMPLETED LINES. The engineers, Messrs. Gauvain and McLeod, submitted an application for inspection of the following transmission lines, which had recently been completed: Waitoa, 11,000 volts; Morrisville borough, 11,000 volts; Motumaoho, 3300 and 415 volts; Te ArohaWaiorongomai road. At Waitoa the line had been constructed across private property adjacent to No. 1 road up to No. 2 road and along- No. 2 road to Eastport road. The latter section was originally constructed for 3300 volt service, but had been altered for working at the higher voltage. In the Morrinsville borough the : 11,000 volt line from Te Aroha had I been tapped near the bowling green ! and a branch line taken on to Allen street, where a transformer platform had been constructed. From the Motumaoho factory a low tension line had been constructed along the south side of the main road to Morrinsville for a distance of ap- | proximately one mile. At another j point on the main road midway bell tween Morrinsville and Motumaoho, I a transformer platform had been conF structed and this is connected up with the main 3300 volt line on Kurunui road by a short line across private property. Low tension construe-.
tion had been continued along the main road towards Morrinsville for about three-quarters of a mile, and also along the road in a westerly direction for approximately the same distance. The circular road through the soldier settlement at Mangateparu on the east side of the main Tahuna road had been reticulated. A 3800 volt line had been constructed for a distance of one mile from the main road, terminating at a transformer platform. From this point low tension circuits continued in northerly and southerly directions for half amile and one mile respectively. On the Te Aroha-Waiovongomai road a low tension line three-quarters of a mile long had been constructed along the main road to Waiorongomai. The line supplied from the 50 K.V.A. 11,000/415 volt transformer at Clarkin’s quarry.
