THE PERMANENT VILLAGE.
ENVY OF LARGER CENTRES. The modern benefits which the Arapuni permanent village will have may well oc the envy of larger centres, not excluding Putaruru. Particularly in its modern water supply system and sewage system will the village be in advance of Putaruru, for the installation of both those advantages is now well forward. For the water scheme a concrete reservoir is ultimately to be built, though meanwhile tanks are to be used instead as a temporary reservoir. The village has a recreation ground reserve, and here the Arapuni Cricket Club has lately had a concrete pitch laid down.
