THE CRICKET CLUB.

ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The third general meeting of the Arapuni Cricket Club was held on November 12, Mr. T. Rabone being .in the chair. The following officers were elected: Patron. Mr. F. F. Hockly, M.P.; president, Mr. T. Rabone; vice-presidents, Colonel F. Green hough and Messrs. F. H. A. Handman, O. N. Hope, F. D. Martin, A. Luck, S. L. Searell, W. S. Ray, W. Hudson, A. Dinnie, R. Sanders, E. M. Findlayson, A. Jefferson and Hegarty; delegate to association, Mr. G. N. Wilford; secretary, and treasurer, Mr. C. R. McKenzie; captain, Mr. W. Grainger; vice-cap-tains, Messrs. Rabone and A. Lindwell. It was decided that a concrete pitch should be laid down immediately. The secretary announced that the Wilson Portland Cement Co. had generously donated a ton of cement, and Mr. M. Hederson (Putaruru) had kindly promised all the gravel necessary. The secretary also read a letter from Messrs. Weightman and Co. donating a bat to be presented to the player with the highest batting average for the season. After some discussion it was unanimously resolved as a safeguard against overcrowding to confirm a rule passed at the first meeting restricting the membership to employees of the Public Works Department, Sir. W. G. . Armstrong, Whitworth and Co., Ltd., and sub-contractors who are engaged , in work directly connected with the | hydro-electric construction. j A hearty vote of thanks io the chair terminated the meeting. ,
