DAIRY AMALGAMATION.
ROTORUA AND PUKETURUA Local Factory Taken Over. The absorption of the Puketurua Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., by the Rotorua Co-op. Dairy Co., Ltd., on a basis which is expected to prove advantageous to the members of both concerns, is announced. The former company owned the modern three-vat cheese factory at Puketurua, which will now be taken over by the Rotorua Co. and sold for removal. The construction of the new PutaruruArapuni road, passing through the I Puketurua settlement, is probably one ig# the *rir..aiy reasons for the amalgamation, as thereby cream from that district can be transported surely and quickly to Putaruru, where the train services suit very welt for railing it to the Rotorua Co.’s modern butter factory at Ngongotalia. There, one man extra will enable the staff to cope with this increase in supply, whereas three men were required to operate the cheese factory. The Puketurua factory was established hy Messrs. J. B. Mac Ewen and Co., Ltd., from whom it was afterwards purchased by the local settlers, who formed the Puketurua Co-op. Co. for the purpose, and later enlarged tlm Lnilrlimr flTlfl TllflTlt.
