A meeting of the Putaruru Cricket Association was held at Putaruru on Saturday afternoon. The members present were: Messrs. H. Jensen (vice-president, in the chair), W. R. Pass and M. Henderson (vice-presi-dents), J. O. Pettit (secretary), F. Woolliams (treasurer), J. A. Dobson and Tuck (Te Whetu club), Hansen and T. Lukin (Waotu), R. Knap and C. K. Hollard (Selwyn), G. N. Wilford and T. Rabone (Arapuni), and A. Faulkner and Dr. East (Putaruru ). THE ARAPUNI CLUB. Notification was received of the formation of a club at Arapuni, Mr. C. R. McKenzie, as provisional secretary, applying for affiliation of the chib and submitting a provisional list of players. He added that as it would be some little time before the club would be ready for play, it would appreciate being given a bye for the first day of the competition, November 2, but anticipated being able to out a team in the fiekl on the foh owing week. On behalf of the Putaruru club, Dr. East moved that the affiliation be granted, and on behalf of li e Waotu club, Mr. T. Lukin seconded. Messrs. Knap and Holla'd moved an amendment that the affiliation be granted, but that the Arapuni club be n« t entitled to rep esentation at the piesent meeting, the reason given for the amendment De ng that trouble had occurred through the Lichfield club being allowed reorr umtation at the meeting at which it had been introduced and then retiring from the association. After discussion, however, the amendment was withdrawn, and tin*, met or. was carried u.ianiir.iui.e’y* THE SYSTEM OF SCOPING. In accordance with notice given, the Te Whetu club moved that the i system of awarding competition points be altered to three points for a win on a two innings match, two points for a win on a one innings match, and one point to each team for ; a tie.

I It was explained that under the sysj tern at first adopted by the assoj ciation one point was awarded for a I win, whether on a two-innings match or a one-innings match, a game resulting in a tie or in which neither side could get a decision through one team not having completed at least one innings to be replayed. A threefifths majority was required to alter this rule, or any other rules. After lengthy discussion the amending motion was lost, eight votes being recorded against it and seven for it. The Te Whetu club then moved an alternative amendment, namely, that two points be awarded for a win of any description and one point to each team for a tie, unfinished matches in which a decision could not be given on the first innings to be replayed. This was carried by 14 votes to one. THE RE-DRAW. The re-draw necessitated by the entry of Ihe Arapuni club was then made, and resulted as follows: November 9: Waotu v. Te Whetu, at Waotu; Arapuni v. Selwyn, at Arapuni; Putaruru a bye. November 16: Waotu v. Arapuni, at Waotu; Te Whetu v. Putaruru, at Te Whetu; Se’.wyn a bye. November 23: Putaruru v. Arapuni, at Putaruru; Waotu v. Selwyn, at Waotu; Te Whetu a bye. November 30: Putaruru v. Selwyn, at Putaruru; Te Whetu v. Arapuni, at Te Whetu; Waotu a bye.
