NEED FOR A TROUBLEMAN.
A PUTARURU REQUEST. Appointment Not Warranted. A request for appointment of a troubleman at Putaruru was made by the Putaruru Chamber of Commerce to the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, which met on Tuesday. The request stated that the town and district was developing rapidly with an increase of consumers. A voice: Where is Putaruru. (Laughter) ? Mr. Anderson asked was there any reason why a troubleman should be appointed for Putarui’u The manager explained that there was at present a man at Tirau, and he served the district well. Mr. McLeod said that the increase in consumers at Putaruru did not warrant the appointment of a troubleman. Mr. Flatt: Tell them we’ll keep it steadily in view! Mr. Anderson (emphatically): No; I believe in a straight out answer. It was eventually decided to inform the Putaruru Chamber of Commerce that the appointment of a troubleman at Putaruru was not yet warranted, but that the matter would be kept in view.
