A superannuation scheme was briefly outlined to a meeting held at Morrinsville on Monday of the Auckland Provincial Dairy Companies’ Association, and was recommended for adoption by dairy companies for their employees. Messrs. McQuorkindale, Leonard and Pearson were deputed to meet the organisers after the meeting to have the proposals fully explained. The representations that have frorr, time to time been made by the Patetonga School Committee, and supported by the committees of other schools on the Hauraki Plains, to get one oi the travelling dental clinics to visit the district are now about to beai fruit. Inquiries have been made o i the various headmasters as to the number of infant pupils likely to rerequire attention. Hauraki Plains Gazette. At a clearing sale at Matamata on Monday a box of White Leghorns was “ knocked down ” at 5s lOd pei head. This astounded a Te Poi farmer, who to a press representative exclaimed: “How much did he say?” “ Five and tenpence.” “ Good Lord,” was the reply, “ I’ve bought sheep at less than that.”
