A GOOD AVERAGE.

3401 b OF FAT PER COW. A good average of 3401 b of butterfat per cow was obtained by Mr. W. Innes, of Tatuanui, from his herd of 26 cows during the past season. This is an improvement on his previous season’s average, which was 3321 b from a similar number of cows. He intends this season to milk 34 cows cn his holding of 59 acres, and although he does not expect that his average production will be as high as the past season his total yield of butter-fat, he anticipates, will be larger. Mr. Innes is a liberal top-dresser, and besides the 26 milking cows he grazed other matured stock, which brought the total up to 40 head on his 59 acres.
