WEDDING BELLS.

TURNER THOMPSON. A wedding- of considerable interest to the residents of Kuranui road, Motumaoho, was solemnised at the residence of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Thompson, Kuranui road, last week, when Miss Ida Margaret Thompson, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. M. Thompson, was married to Mr. Baden Powell Turner, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. T. A. Turner, of Kuranui road. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. F. Greenwood. The bride, who entered on the arm of her father to the tune of the Wedding March, played by Mrs. Cottingham, was attired in brociie silk with silk lace and silver beaded trimming and carried a sheaf of lillies. The bridesmaid, Miss M. Thompson, sister of the bride, wore white crepe de chene with hat to match, and carried a boquet of asparagus fern and pale violets and fresias. The best man was Mr. Austin Turner, brother of the bridegroom. The bridegoom’s gift .to the bride was a set of furs, the bride’s gift to the bridegroom a set of ebony hair brushes, and the present from the bridegroom to the bridesmaid a gold armlet.

The bride’s mother was attired in black beaded satin; the bridegroom’s mother, gray three piece costume; Miss Hazel Turner, crepe de chene frock with hat to match; Mrs. Prevell, sister of the bride, three piece gaberdine costume with floral trimmings; Mrs. R. Harris, of Waitoa, aunt of the bridegroom, blue velvet frock with beaded trimmings; Mrs. Donald, blue frock, fur trimmings; Mrs. Phillips, silk knitted costume; Mrs. Taylor, blue frock with lace trimmings; Miss Wall, of Hamilton, black velvet with beaded trimmings; Miss Chapman, crimson crepe de chene, with hat to match. The evening was spent at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. W. Phillips, in whose large room dancing was indulged in until a late hour. About 50 guests sat down to a splendid wedding breakfast which was served on tables decorated with spring flowers. The bridal couple left for Rotorua and Taupo, the bride’s travelling costume being of stone gray gaberdine with hat to match.

COLVILLE—MARTIN. A quiet but pretty weeding was solemnised in Knox (Presbyterian) Church, Morrinsville, on Wednesday last, when Miss Violet Connigrove Martin, younger daughter of Mr. J. Martin, of Walton, was married to Mr. John Murray Colville. In the absence, through sickness, of the minister of the church, the Rev. M. Richards, the Rev. F. Greenwood performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was attended by her bridesmaid, Miss E. Fisk. The best man was Mr. C. Martin. After the ceremony, a sumptuous wedding breakfast was sat down to in Scott’s Tea Rooms. Here the usual toasts were honoured and afterwards the happy couple left Rotorua-wards on their honeymoon. Included among the many costly and useful wedding presents were a number of cheques. The bridegroom’s present to the bridesmaid was a handsome gold brooch.
