THE PRIVATE SIDING.
BALLASTING OPERATIONS. At the Putaruru railway station the relaying gang has the private siding for the Armstrong, Whitworth Company now in position and ballasting with sand and scoria is being done. A fairly wide roadway has been made on the outer side of the rails, a large amount of filling being required for this. An entrance gate for the siding is being provided against the cattlerace gate.
