STOCK SALES.

MORRINSVILLE. At their Morrinsville sale on Thursday, Dalgety and Co. had a large yarding* of stock, particularly of dairy cattle, and a large number of buyers were present. The dairy stock sold well and prices for fat cows were well maintained. The prices are: Beef: Fat bullocks, £9 is; fat cows, £5 5s to £7 15s; store' cows, £1 5s to £2 4s; bulls, £2; yearling- Jersey cross heifers, £1 7s to £1 10s. Dairy cattle: Cows, £6 10s to £ls ss; others, £4 to £5 10s; heifers, £7 10s to £9; backward, £3 10s to £5 10s. Sheep: Two-tooth store wethers, 25s 9d. Pigs: Fat pigs, £3 10s to £4; store pigs, £1 17s to £2 9s; weaners, £1 6s to £1 3s.

MATAMATA. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., held their monthly stock sale at Matamata on Wednesday. There was a good yarding of cattle, dairy stock, especially being well represented. Prices were:—Pigs: Weaners, 20s to 395; pedigree Berkshire weaners, £3 3s; store pigs, 40s to 50s. Cattle: Fat cows, £4 to* £9 19s; forward steers, to £G; forward cows, £2 10s to £4; store cows, 20s to 355; a line of two-year steers, £3 10s; yearlingheifers, 20s to 375; yearling steers, to 50s. Dairy cattle: Jersey grade heifers from Taranaki, choice, £lO to £l3 15s; others, £6 to £9; backward heifers, little demand; Shorthorn and Friesian heifers, choice, £8 to £lO ss; backward heifers, £3 10s to £5 10s. HAMILTON.

At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Frankton sale on Tuesday there was a small entry of fat sheep, a fair entry of beef, a good yarding of fat and store pigs, and a good number of dairy cattle. Prices: —Fat wethers £2 2s 6d; prime fat hoggets, 36s 6d; fat hoggets, small, 20s 6d; prime fat steers, light weights, £ll 17s to £l2 10s; prime fat heifers, £9 11s; prime fat cows, £8 to £9 15s; light and unfinished, £5 11s to £5 15s; fresh-conditioned cows, £3 7s to £4 3s; store cows, £1 15s to £2 10s; yearling heifers, 34s to £2 10s; choice Jersey springing heifers, £ll ss; others, £4 10s to £6 10s; choice dairy cows, £lO 15s; inferior, £2 10s to £4 10s. Prime heavy baconers, £3 19s to £4 7s 6d; light baconers, £3 12s i to £3 15s; choice porkers, £3 5s to £3 9s; others, £2 10s to £2 17s 6d; slips, £2 2s to £2 6s; weaners, 25s to 30s; choppers, £5 2s 6d; breeding sows, £3 15s to £5 15s. WAIKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co. report under date September 2, as follows: — Beef.—The market is still very firm with every prospect of keeping so, for at least a couple of months. Good yardings are coming forward, also good sales being made in the paddock. Prime steer and cow are most sought after. Mutton.—There is little change in the price of fat sheep, with the exception of extra prime quality which is very firm. Store Cattle.—There is a good enquiry for grown steers, also youngsteers with few offering. The yardings consist mostly of store cows and yearling heifers, there being little demand forTthe latter.

Store Sheep.—Fair yardings have been coming forward, consisting principally of hoggets, which are finding ready sale at high prices. Dairy Cattle.—The yardings are easing off, dairying being in full swing, but there is still a good demand for choice cows or well grown •heifers close to profit, inferior being very dull. Pigs.—Good yardings of fats and stores are coming forward at the different markets, and are finding keen competition at high prices, stores last week being a little easier, owing no doubt to the large numbers yarded. Horses.—Good heavy, medium and light draughts are still in demand, but little enquiry. Bullocks, prime heavy £l3 to £l4 ss; medium, £lO 10s to £l2 10s. Cows, prime £7 10s to £9; medium, £5 to £5 10s; unfinished, £3 10s to £4 ss; stores, £1 to £1 15s. Steers, 3i-year forward, £5 10s to £6 ss; 3i-year stores, £4 15s to £5 15s; 2i-year good, £3 10s to £3 15s; others, £2 5s to £2 10s; yearling good, £2 5s to £2 7s 6d; yearling medium. £1 5s to £1 10s. Wethers, prime heavy, £2 2s to £2 6s; prime medium, 38s to £2. Ewes, prime heavy, 30s to 335; light, 26s to 275. Store wethers, 4-tooth, 32s to 345; 2-tooth, 28s to 30s. Ewes in lamb, 5-year, 28s to 335; sound mouth 25s to 275. Hoggets, fat, 30s to 355; forward, 25s to 27s Od. Good store lambs, 23s to 255; medium store lambs, 20s to 21s; small store lambs, 12s 6d to 14s 6d. Pigs, baconers, prime, £4 5s to £4 10s, medium £3 15s to £4; porkers, £2 15s to £3 ss; slips, £2 to £2 2s; weaners, 25s to 32s 6d. Horses, heavy draughts £SO to £6O, medium £35 to £3B, spring cart sorts £lB to £22, harness horses £8 to £lO. THE LONDON MARKET.
