HINUERA.

SCHOOL. COMMITTEE MEETING. The Hinuera School Committee met on Wednesday evening-. Mr. H. C. Pond (chairman) presided, and there were also present:—Messrs. W. Oates, H. Settle and G. E. Conder (secretary). It was decided to purchase out-1 side seats for the school grounds. AI book case is to be procured for the » school library, and estimates are to be obtained for same. A person to clean the school during the term holidays is to be advertised for. The prizes which were not presented at the school picnic will be handed out when the school breaks up towards the end of the present month. CHURCH BAZAAR. The Hinuera church held a bazaar at Hinuera on Saturday. Arrangements were in the hands of a good organising committee, consisting of Mesdames Canned, Wheeler, Tisc-h, R. Hawke, H. Settle, W. Settle, W. Oates and R. Swan. An orchestra from Matamata, consisting of Mrs. Hawes, jun., Messrs. Hawes, Bates, Shepherd and Caisley, rendered selections which were greatly appreciated. Vocal items rendered by the Hinuera Glee Club were also very well received. Afternoon tea and supper was served in tents which were erected oufskle the hall. As a result of the function a substantial sum was raised for the motor car fund.

PERSONAL. Miss F. Dawson, who has been relieving at the_ Hinuera school, has now been transferred to Karangahake school as relieving teacher. Miss V. Spence has returned from a South Sea Islands tour and resumed reaching.
