GOLF. The second roond of the HeatherRobertson Cup competition ended as follows:—A. Stewart defeated B. Gavin, T. Little defeated L. Bishop, W. Rice * defeated A. Gray, J. Kittow defeated J. Callaghan, junr., H. Marsh defeated J. Stewart, S. Wilson defeated W. H. Main. The second round for the Kittow Rose Bowl competition (ladies) resulted: Mrs. Craig defeated Mrs. P. Dee, Mrs. J. Stewart defeated Mrs. T. Little. TENNIS. That great patron of sport, Mr. Norman Todd, of Matamata, presented two trophies to the Tirau Tennis Club for tlte- lady and gentlemen respectively, who showed the most improved play during the season. The lady’s prize has been awarded to Miss Hetherington and the gentleman’s to Mr. F. Fuller. WORKING-BEE. A working-bee was held last week at the Tirau Tennis court in order to get a new concrete court ready for play during the coming season. About fifteen members attended, and they (did good work removing’ saiid from a pit in the vicinity. Great jihanks are due to Mr. J. Kinnear, who kindly placed three motor lorries, along with their drivers, at the disposal of the club. These vehicles were used carting the sand from the pit to the courts. MUSICAL EVENING. Mrs. L. Bishop gave a social evening at her residence on Monday. Quite a number of friends were present and a most enjoyable time was spent by all. DANCING CLASS. A dancing class has been organised in Tirau and is now in full swing. The class, under the able voluntary tuition of Mrs. Rapson, is making good progress. PERSONAL. Mr. R. Nay smith and family have \ now taken up their residence in their handsome bungalow erected near the Presbyterian Church site. Mr. A. Stewart has returned from a holiday visit to Auckland.
