SEASON’S PAYMENT OF Is 6.42 d. In the annual report of the Bruntwood Dairy Company the following figures were given:—During the year 10,836,7341 b of milk were received, yielding 424,385.931 bof butterfat; also 1661 b of cream, yielding 88.21 b of butterfat. From this 1,116,3671 b, or 498 tons 7cwt 631 b of cheese was made. It took 9.671 bof milk to make lib cheese, and lib of butterfat made 2.681 b cheese. The average test for the season was 3.91, and average grading 90.67. The cost of manufacture was 1.058 d per pound of cheese, distribution .416 d pound, and overhead expenses .124 d per pound, a total cost of 1.598 d per pound. The profit and loss appropriation account shows a balance of £156 15s 3d for the previous season, 1922-23; this will pay out a bonus of .15d per pound on butterfat used for cheese making during that year. Also for year 1923-24 a further balance is shown due to the suppliers of £3907 6s sd. The directors recommend t v - J 5 per cent, interest will be paid on paid-up share capital. Advances w made during the year on account butterfat at tfie rate of 16.304 d ] pound. The payout for the seas 1923-24 will be 18.42 d per pou butterfat.
