STOCK SALES.

NATHAN’S CLEARING SALE. A clearing- sale of Mr. P. J- Nathan’s Coldstream herd of grade Jersey cows was held at the Putaiuiu saleyards by Dalgety and Co. on Friday. This offering of 100 cows and 24 high-grade Jersey heifers, attracted a fairly large attendance of buyers. Cows showing* reasonably forward in calf sold to a solid demand at from £lO to £l3, but for backward sorts prices ranged from £5 to £B. For the heifers prices ranged from £4 to £7, the average being in the MOHR] NSVILLE. There was a large yarding of most classes of stock at the Farmers’ Auctioneering- Company’s sleek sale at Morrins'ville on Friday, dairy cows and pigs being- those which were not well represented. Fat steers showed considerable improvement on the past sale, the top price, £l2 9s, being the best realised at Morrinsville for some months. Forward cows were also a good deal firmer. There was little demand, however, for yearling stock, of which there were large numbers. The quality of the dairy cows was not at all high and these animals were not well sought after. The prices are:—Beef: Heavy fat steers, £l2 9s; medium weights, £8 12s Gd to £10; light weights, £6 to £8 ss; heavy fat cows, £6 to £7 12s; medium weights, £4 10s to £5 10s; light weights, £3 15s to £4 10s; forward cows, £2 5s to £3 ss; store cows, £1 to £1 15s; bulls, £1 to £4; yearling heifers, 7s to 15 s; good yearling Jersey heifers, £1 to £1 7s §d. Dairy stock: Cows, £4 10s; culls, £1 5s to £1 15s; in-calf heifers, £4 ss. Sheep: Fat ewes, 24s 3d to 30s Sd; lambs, 25s Gd; forward lambs, 19s lid to 21s lOd. Pigs: Small porkers, £1 to £1 17s; good porkers, £2 10s; good slips, £1 to £1 10s; weaners, 10s to 17s. SALE OF PEDIGREE AYRSHIRE CATTLE. At Te Aroha on Thursday, June 12, on behalf of Mr. R. B. Hines, the Farmer.,’ Auctioneering Company held a dispersal sale of pedigree Ayrshire cattle. The lop price of 32gns was paid by W. C. Wallace, Cambridge, for Violet of Breside. Rose of TJ.V. was purchased by B. Cryer, Wharepca, at 26gns, as was also Pet of Pukeoware at 27gns. Bess of Mountain View fell at 22gns to Tho-s. Allen, Walton; Fancy of M.V. to H. B. Douslin at 20gns; Glory of Mountain View to T. Jackson, Rotorua, at 20gns; another at the same figure to H. B. Douslin, Rotorua. The two-year heifers realised up to ISgns. This was for Spot of Mountain View, purchased by H. B. Douslin, Rotorua. CLAUDELANDS. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s stock sale at Claudelands on Thursday, there was a fair entry of pigs, fat sheep and beef and a small entry of store cattle. The whole of the entry was quitted at prices equal to late sales. LSght fat steers, £6 3s to £6 18s; prime fat cows, £6 4s; lighter, £3 17s Gd to £4 17s; :f rc-s h-condi-tioned cows, £2 10s to £2 16s; store cows, 21s to 30s; good 18-months steers, £2 10s; bulls, £3 5s to £4 4s; Jersey heifer calves, 19s to 325; fat ewes, 2’6s to 28s 3d; lighter, 24s 6d; prime fat hoggets, 25s 9d; good porkers, £2 Is to £2 4s; others, 35s to 37s Gd; choppers, £2 9s; weaners, 12s to 17s.

Th.i Farmers’ Auctioneering Cornpan.'.- held a dairy heifer sale at Morrinsville on Tuesday, when 300 head ot Taranaki and Waikato heifers were sold on behalf of.* Mr. J. J. Patterson. Bidding was brisk at the commencement but a the buyers filled their requirements competition became slacker. Most of the heifers "ere Jerseys and Jersey cross. The most forward sorts realised up to £l4 los and the more backward from £7 10s to £8 10s. Other good Jersey and Jersey-cross Heifers sold from £0 10s to £l2 10s.
