speakers who expressed the district’s regret at the loss of these friends and expressed good wishes, while the company was favoured by a song by Mr. Pettit, of Te Whetu, and a concertina solo by Mr. A. Wilkins. Mr. Ormond Lily ably acted as M.C. for the dancing. On behalf of the guests Messrs. Chandler, G. Goldsbury and Hounsell suitably replied. Dance music was supplied by Mrs. Sloper. Extras were played by Mr. Wilfred Jenson and Messrs. Chandler and Con.
FAREWELL SOCIAL. The district of Tokoroa is about to experience many changes in the personnel of its residents, as, resulting from the sale of the Matarawa sections several families of sharemilkers will be leaving* the district this month, making room for newcomers to take possession. Three of these families were the guests at a very enjoyable social held in the Public Hall on Thursday evening, namely, Mr. and Mrs. Goldsbury and family, Mr. and Mrs. Chandler and family, and Mr. and Mrs. Hounsell and! family. The two first-named -have been residents of Tokoroa for -two years and members of each family have always taken a forward interest and active part in the social life of the district.
