BUGGY ACCIDENT.
lIINUEKA LADY INJURED. An accident occurred in Matamata at about midday last week. A double buggy driven by Mrs. H. Barnes, of Hinuera, was passing the glaxo factory towards Matamata when the centre pole dropped, causing the pole strap to break. The horses took fright and bolted in the direction of Waharoa. Mrs. Barnes, who was accompanied by Miss Barnes, kept her seat,, but owing to the nature of the breakage had no control over the horses. The buggy was drawn as far as the Electric Power Board office, where it overturned, pinning the ladies underneath. When they were extricated and Mrs. Barnes, who was suffering severely from bruises and shock, was taken into the residence of Mr. H. E. Mog-ford, -.where she obtained medical attention, later being reomved to the Matamata Public Hospital. Miss Barnes was able to proceed home. The horses received no injury, neither was the buggy damaged with the exception of the broken pole.
