OBITUARY.

MRS. E. J. BELL. Mrs. Emma Jane Bell, who has been residing- with her son-in-law, Mr. W. Sweetman, in the Matamata county for the last 10 years, died at the Braeside Private Hospital, Matamata, last Thursday. The deceased lady, who was in her 60th year, was a native of Rangier a, but for a longperiod of her life lived in Greymouth. She was of a retiring disposition but made not a few friends during the time that she resided in Hinuera and other parts of the Matamata district. She leaves a son, Mr. F. Bell, of Christchurch, and two daughters, Mrs. W. Sweetman and Miss A. Bell, of Hinuera, to mourn their loss.
