THE KAIMAI.
MAIN HIGHWAY QUESTION. Satisfactory Statement. Writing from Wellington to the Editor of the Matamata Record, Mr. C. E. Macmillan, M.P., states that he had called on the chairman of the Dominion Main Highways Board to discuss the position of the Kaimai road with him. One board had declared the road a highway from the Tauranga borough boundary to the Matamata county boundary, but the board controlling the Matamata county had not declared the portion of the road in the Matamata county. Mr. Macmillan said that the Dominion Board will adjust the discrepancy and declare the whole road a main highway. The member concludes: “This should be as satisfactory to the* Matamata people as it will be to the Tauranga people.” No doubt the attention the membel has given to this matter will be greeted with pleasure by the constituents on the Matamata side of the range.
