GOLF.
THE TIRAU CLUB. The annual meeting of the Tirau Golf Club was held recently. The election of officers for the current season resulted:—Patron, Mr. F. Lye, M.P.; president, Mr. A. Stewart; vice-presidents, Messrs. F. Rose, J. Keane *md J. W. Anderson; hon. auditor, Mr. T. Little; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. T. Eccleton; committee, Messrs. W. Rice, W. Craig, L. W. Bishop and W. H. Main. The club has not yet fixed upon its opening day but is now busily engaged in getting its fairways into good order.
