Geese and ducks in large numbers were carried down the rivers at Gisborne during the recent floods and got into the sea before being able to clear themselves from the strong current. They then made for the beach through the breakers, and, as one of the “ beneficiaries ” puts it: “ there were plenty of willing hands to help them ashore.”
