ELECTRIC POWER FOR TOWNS.

SUPPLY IN BULK. Report To Be Obtained. An application to the Thames Valley' Electric Power Board from the Paeroa Borough Council asking for particulars regarding the cost oJ supplying power in bulk to the town opened up an important discussior at Tuesday’s meeting of the board. Mr. Strange considered :lmt before anything was done in th: matter a report should be obtained from the engineers, who should also go into the question that assuming Morrinsville and Matamata should also desire 1o receive the power in bulk would it pay the board to adopt this method.

jt was suggested that the power be supplied at cost price but consideration would have to be taken of the initial cost, of the construction and of the maintenance of the lines over wfiich the power was carried. The engineers were instructed to prepare a report on the matter for the next meeting.
