WEDDING BELLS.
McMIKEN YOUNG. A very pretty wedding* was solemnised in tire St*. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Matamata, on Wednesday, January 30, when Miss Mary Young*, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Young, Tower road, Matamata, was married to Mr. John Ward McMicken. The bride', who entered the church on the arm of her father, was charmingly attired in a dress of cream crepe de chene, beautifully embroidered in pearls, and wore the orthodox tulle veil and orange blossoms. She carried a beautiful boquet* composed of asters, sweetpeas, carnations, maiden hair fern and white satin streamers. Her sister, Miss Henrietta Young, who attended her as bridesmaid, wore a very pretty frock of white silk, daintily embroidered with pale blue beads, slightly gathered at hips with pale blue bows and streamers, and carried a boquet of pale pink flowers entwined with maiden hair fern and pale blue streamers. Mr. Gordon McMiken, brother of the bridegroom, acted as best man. After the ceremony the bridal party and guests adjourned to the home of the bride’s parents, where a marquee was erected, in which the wedding breakfast was partaken of, and the usual toasts honoured. The newly-wedded couple left for Rotorua by motor car amid showers of confetti and good wishes, the bride travelling in a most becoming kingfisher blue coat frock embroidered with fawn braid and plaited belt, and smart kingfisher hat to match.
