TOTALISATOR PERMIT

GRANTED TO MATAMATA. For Next Race Meeting. It is stated on good authority that a totalizator permit has been granted to the Matamata- Racing Club for its next meeting. This, it is understood, is for one day and is lent for the season, pending definite arrangements. A meeting of the club’s executive committee will shortly be called to appoint a secretary and to discuss the arrangements for the next meeting. The statement regarding the granting* of a totalizator permit to the Matamata Racing Club was confirmed in a letter received by the president. Mr. P. Quinlan, from the Minister for Internal Affairs on Friday. It was also stated that the other day, lately held by the Lake County Club, had been lent to the Franklin (Pukelcohe) Club. It would seem that Mata mate is unknown Dunediirwards. In a message to an Auckland paper a correspondent wired: “It is reported that the Lake County Jockey Club’s twoday totalizator permit has gone out of the Otago district, one going to the Frankton Jockey Club and the other to the, Waitemata Jockey Club. It is said that the Dunedin District Committee was not consulted about j the rearrangement.”
