S U BTERRA NE AN C LOVE R. An official description of the Mangere clover which has been so successfully established on Mr. F. Karl’s farm, Tirau road, is as follows: “ Trifolium subterraneum (subterranean clover), locally known by the name of Mangere or Lennard’s clover. It creeps along the ground and soon forms a dense mat of rich succulent herbage. Greedily eaten by all kinds of stock.”
