WESTFIELD. .At ilie Westfield sale on Wednesday there was a heavy yarding of all classes of slock. Beef was in excess of requirements and values dropped by 2s per 1001 b. Though fat and young* calves were in large numbers competition was keen for all goodquality vealers. There was a good demand for sheep and lambs in extra large numbers met with a good sale. Pigs -sold readily. MATA MAT A. The Farmers' Auctioneering Co. •held their usual sale at Matamata on Wednesday. Possibly owing* to haymaking- and the approaching holiday season there was only a small yarding and a moderate attendance of buyers. Neither dairy cattle nor sheep were represented, only four lines of beef cattle and a few pigs being* sold. Prices were:—Beef cattle: Largo fat steers, £5 10s to £6 ss; fat heifers, £3 10s to £4 17s Gd; fat cows, £3 5s 1:o £4 2s; store cows. £1 5s to £1 14s. Pigs: Weaners, 12s to 18s; slips, £1 to £1 2s 6d. MORRINSVILLE. The Farmers’ Auctioneering Co.’s Morrinsvillo yards were not half filled oi Friday when the usual fortnightly solo was held. There was a fair number of beef cattle and of sheep, but other classes of stock were in very small numbers. Sheep sold fairly well. lfut there was a noticeable drop in beef, £7 18s being* the highest figure obtained. The fol-ic-wing* are the prices: Beef: Fat steers, £7 (o £7 ISs; fat cows, £4 to £5 ss; store cows, £1 5s to £i 15s. Dairy cattle: Heifers ciose to profit, £5 5s to £7 10s; cows, £3 15s to £7 10s: house cow, £2O. Sheep: Fat wethers, 28s to 295; fat sheep, 275: fat ewes, 20s to 235; lambs, 25s 3d. Pigs: Fat pigs, £2 2s to £2 15s; slips 17s to 225; weaners, 9s to 14s. C LA U DELANDS. At the Farmers’ Auctioneering Olaudelands sale on Thursday there was a good entry of beef, pigs and store, cattle, with a small yarding of fat sheep. Practically the whole of the yarding changed hands at prices equal to late sales. ARGENTINE EXPORTS. The New' Zealand Meat Producers Board has received a cable from its representative at Buenos Aires, South America, advising the following shipments to tii 1 United Kingdom for the
fortnight ended I.sth inst. from Argentine and Uruquay (the figures do not. include exports from Patagonia, Chili or Brazil): —115,107 quarters chilled beef, 25,194 quarters frozen beef, 34,242 carcases frozen mutton, 58,032 carcases frozen lamb. The quantity shipped to the Continent of Europe during the same period totalled 39,528 quarters frozen beef, 2337 carcases frozen mutton. PRICES OF FAT STOCK FOR EXPORT.
