THE MUSICAL BLANCHARDS.
A fairly large audience in the Putaruru Town Hall on Wednesday evening- of last week was treated to an excellent entertainment by the Musical Blanchards, a theatrical company of two gentlemen and one lady artist, who proved themselves very capable exponents of a big variety of pleasingarts. Melodious music on the tubular harp, silver xylophones, Russian sleigh bells, Swiss hand bells, etc., was their forte, and the. beauty with which they rendered popular tunes on these was both surprising and delighting, revealing practised talent, of a high order. Harmless conjuring, but presenting a deep degree of mystery, and also paper folding and tearing for pattern work, gripped the interest of the audience, while dialogue patter and finally., a short comedy* provided a good measure of humour. Altogether the company lived up to its claim of providing an excellent entertainment of Immaculate refinement, and a return .visit by them at any time would always be very welcome here.
