DAIRY PRODUCTION.
LOCAL INCREASES. The November figures of the supply received at the local cheese factories this year again show an increase on the corresponding figures for November of last year. The details arc as follows, last year’s figures being those given in parentheses: — Tokoroa: Milk received, 510,7151 b (472,2591 b); butler-fat content, 18,7611 b (18,0301 b). Puketurua: Milk received, 500,5991 b (417,1541 b); butter-fat content 15,6971 b (15,7121 b). The output of cream from the district is also considerably larger so far this season than during the corresponding period of last season. The biggest increase is probably in the supply from the Puketurua road to the Ngongotaha butter factory, the increase in this instance being stated by the cream carter to have reached 100 per cent. In addition, the cream cartage contractors for the Tapapa and Waotu runs both report that they are receiving bigger loads this season than last, while the deliveries of cream to Bart’s Siding, Taumangi station, and also Putaruru station, per the T.T.T. Co.’s railway, all represent an increased number of suppliers and a bigger volume of cream.
