A very fine growth of Stratagem peas is to be seen at Mr. J. G. Goodwin’s farm, Te Poi. The bines, which are of an average length of about 4ft in some places, arc literally bowed down beneath their weight of fleshy pods. At the last meeting’ of the Rotorua County Council the clerk stated that 444 motor cars were registered in the county, 40 having been registered within the last two months. It was decided to apply for authority for a further allotment cf numbers over 500. A test has recently been made by the dairy division of the Department of Agriculture of the United States in connection with the effect of linseed oilcake on the butter-fat production. It has been found that the yield has been considerably improved by feeding “ Moose ” Linseed Oilcake (sold by the N.Z. Cattlecake and Oil Co.j Auckland).*
