the putaruru group. The returns for October for the Putaruru group of the New Zealand Co-op. Herd-testing Association, of which group Mr. Bedford is the testing officer, are now to hand. These show that the best herd was incidentally also the largest, numbering 80 cows, who gave an average yield in milk for the month of 10021 b per head, with an average test of 3.8, giving the butter-fat average per head for the month at 38.681 b. The best cow in the group was also included in this herd, giving 21001 b of milk and 77.71 bof butter-fat for the month. The worst cow in the group gave 4.411 b of butter-fat.
