Still the reports are good as to the condition of the trout in Lake Rotovun and adjacent streams this year; besides this, they are plentiful, proof of which is afforded by the large catches being taken, and the success of parties only out for an hour or two. The latest baskets are? Mr. D. A. MacCorquodale, from the Palace Hotel, 40 taken from the TJtuhina, averaging over 81b, the heaviestbeing 6&lb; all these were taken on one fly; Mr. and Mrs. Body, six fish in li hours on Lake Rotorua; Messrs. Doubling (South Africa) and Simpson (Canada), eight fish on the fly in the Ngongotaha stream. —Rotorua Chronicle.
