CADETS AT THE EXHIBITION.
NORTH MARLBOROUGH BOYS ’having A GOOD TIME, Christchurch, Last Night. Tho North Marlborough detachment of Cadets arc in line form, and the boys arc well cared for and enjoying themselves, They reached Wellington at fi p.m. on Friday, the wharf being crowded. They had to rush away to tho To Anau, where they joined 500 other Cadets. The passage down was smooth, and tho boys settled down quietly about 10 pm, Next morning most of tho boys wont to breakfast (ono Oanvastown boy breasting the table three times!) Wo reached Lyttelton at 10 a.m. on Saturday, and tho boys wore amazed at the largo steamers in tho harbour. Mr Barber, M.H.R., provided enough biscuits for the GSO boys. Tho march to tho Exhibition was dusty and warm ; tho boys were fed on ariival and then rested for the afternoon, General leave was given from 4 p.m. till 9, when the boys visited the Exhibition. Sunday was a quiet day, and the boys were given leave from noon. Miss Farmar visited tho camp twice. Tho boys have been given a free trip to “ Wonderland ” by the ollicors. To-morrow tho Major has arranged for all to go to Sumner, for a picnic, and on Thursday they will go to New Brighton. Possibly tho time for our return may bo extended till 12th April, so that wo can take part in the closing ceremony.
