PERSONAL.
Mr J. Hodgson, who has boon Acting-Postmaster in Havelock during Mr Hale’s absence on leave, returned 'to Blenheim yesterday. There is not in the service a more obliging and capable officer than Mr Hodgson, and he has made many friends during his stay here.
Mr D. O’Sullivan (representing the Government Life Insurance office) and Dr Volckner, of Blind River, arrived in Havelock yesterday, in continuation of the round trip from Seddon to Seddon via the Wairau Valley, Tophouse, Nelson, Rai and Pelorua Valleys, Havelock, and Blenheim. The visitors were astounded to learn that in such a thriving locality as Havelock there was not a branch of any Bank.
