Something about Land.

, TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —I remember when I was a little kinchin, a man and his wife starting from Wellington with, their swags, and walking round the coast, doing a loaf on the squatters. They were supposed to be taking an airing, but after casting their greedy eyes over some hundreds of thousands of acres of the best land they wended; their way back to the city of wisdom, and contented themselves , by only , purchasing the small quantity of 1200,000 acres, and then made tracks for the Old Country. Now Mr Editor, if you can put 5 me up to a wrinkle, to make this big land shark disgorge, you will some day be blessed by some 800,000 families who will have homes of their own: Do you know Mr Editor, that I spoke about the land 34 years ago, I saw then that the land was mismanaged, and if it had not been for a land shark, I would now be the owner of a sheep run and 10,000 sheep. I used to rave about the land at one time till people said I had land on the brain,, well, if L have it there, it was the only share that came to my lot.

I am, &ou,

G. H. Watson.
