Okaramio.
.(From Our Own Correspondent-) The coffee supper and entertainment announced to take place in the Okaramio .school room on Friday evening last turned out a great success in every ■yyay. Of course, as the evening advanced the moon, ascended in ah its brightness, and added new lustre to ah around, and by the timenamed for the entertainment to commence the schoolroom; was crowded. In fact it would take, up too much space to mention all the names of those who so kindly assisted, or to dwell op thp merits, of the same suffice it to say that each and all did finding, of course ipy laf® remark also applies" to the coffee supper. I also add that your correspondent apd , Miss Qrundy tpolf, . the, chops in that part, and are always open to accept of an invitation, tp a coffee .supper, but f must not forget to state thkt the above entertainment realized £4 10s after paying all, expenses.; (This sum will go towards replenishing the Sunday School Eihrary., : , , I must just mention that our road .Board appears to be. tpp much engaged 1 jn’ bjig things to take any notice of th a * would k
only cost a few shillings. Can,th'<> not afford to fix an approach leading. o the public school, ; and atop the stream 1 ' of water that runs across the footpath at the Okaramio -Bridge, and also to improve the said footpath a little ? I presume the Inspector, like our members, are always 6h horseback, and look i farytooohigh to see such thing*. I must further add that the ladies do not all wear water-tights... One thing, I .do,, know, and that is if Mrs Grundy gets her feet.wet and tajkes a cold : the Board and the Inspector wiil regret it. Maybe the: Chairman .will; condescend Ito get off his horse and have a look at the same; that might 'do l ifr good/ • i ■■■ <; I ! had a lot more ito write about; but Mrs Grundy wants me to take her out I for a walk, so I musjb ■" obey orders."
