Mahakipawa Dramatic Company.
The performance given by the Mahakipawa Dramatic Company on Saturday night last was fairly well attended, considering the boisterous state of the weather. So far as the entertainment was concerned it was really preditable to all concerned, and the farce “Deaf as a Post” was highly amusing, and caused a good deal of laughter. All the pharaoters were well sustained, Messrs Patterson, Welling, Cox, and Pym were the gentlemen performers, and Mrs Munday, and the Misses Daniel, Warrel and Hudson took the lady parts, and deserve the greatest praise for the manner in which they were rendered. Several songs and dances were given afterwards, Miss Hudson and Dr Drury singing a duet, “ Very Suspicious,” in capital style, Dr Drury also gave “ Very Improper Indeed,” Messrs Cox and Frank Henderson also contributed songs, which were well received by the
iiidience. The step dancing by the doßae Bros, was really good, as was ■:.liat of G. Welling. The overtures vere played by Miss Hudson, piano, and Mr Ohaa. Allington, comet. We iave much pleasure in stating that the >ame company of fourteen members rill give a performance in aid of the idicton Hospital at the Town Hall, Havelock, on Thursday next, when we hope to see a good attendance of the public. .
