We regret to bear of the death, by drowning, of Mr Thomas Hustwick, -aged 21 years, eldest son of Mr T. Hustwick, chemist; ofßlenheim. He was out in a boat on the Opawa River, and, as he was subject to fits, it is supposed this was the cause of his, being drowned, as his body was found close to the bank in a few feet of water.

We were glad to see so much interest displayed by the settlers in the Sounds ,at the meeting on Saturday to deal with the question of a mail service and a track from Nydia Bay. We will have something to say on this matter in our next.

There appears to be a little burglary business going on in Blenheim at the present time. Mr Walsh’s store was broken into the other night, and other places have been visited.
