Marlborough Acclimatisation Society.
The following circular has been sent out by the Secretary, of the above ‘Society to settlers in this district “ I beg to draw your attention to the fact that, although the Marlborough Acclimatisation Society has been m existence for many years, there is a remarkable scarcity of both game and fish throughout the district. One reason for this is the want of necessary funds for the introduction and acclimatisation of the same ; an evil that would, to a great extent, be remedied if the present small number of members could be increased. With this object I now have to solicit your support, and to ask that you will become a member of the Society, and at the same time assist in carrying out the objects for which it was formed. Annual subscription, including fishing and shooting licenses, £1 Is. Mr John Hart will give receipts and obtain license.”
