i ' Dunedin, April 7. At the Exhibition the attendance on Saturday was 6,499, including 4,578 who paid admission. a married woman named MTCellar, living at Athol Place, was found in an unconscious state at her residence on Saturday afternoon, and died within an hour of her admission to the Hospital. Deceased had been suffering from influenza.
While out duck shooting fct Palmerston yesterday, Master Burton, son of a. H. Burton (photographer), received injuries of a serious nature, owing to the accidental discharge of his gun. Masterton, April 8. Influenza and typhoid fever are very prevalent in the Forty Mile Bush. AUCKLAND, April 8. The seeond day’s races of the Auckland Racing Club’s summer meeting have been postponed in consequence of a steady rain and northerly blow which set in last night. In consequence of the rain and wind several parties of water excursionists were unable to get home, some were left at Waiwera, while the steamer was still lying in shelter at Tiri-tiri Island. New Plymouth, April 8. a letter by last mail states that a company has formed in London to work the petroleum at New Plymouth, and will commence operations in May next.
