Road Board Representation.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —When our Parliament meet next session it would be wise if our member endeavoured to have the present Road Boards Act so amended as to give our miners a voice in the control and expenditure of the goldfields’ revenue. By giving them the power to elect a member to represent them on the Road Board, who have the money placed in their hands to expend. It is against all the true principles of fair taxation that a class tax in the shape of gold duty should be levied at all, but it is simply adding insult to injury when they are not allowed a voice in its expenditure. I am, &c., 0. H. Mills.
