WAKAMARINA.
(From Our Own Correspondent).
I Work at the Gorge is proceeding favourably. They are at present taking out a paddock near the head dam. Th paddock is about fifty feet long, and is now down about fifteen feet. They are taking out from 130 to 150 tons of shingle a day. The pump has not been working for the past eleven days. Dminage, leakage, etc., does not exceed one inch per day, which speaks volumes for the workmanship displayed in putting in the dams.
The manager of the Golden Bar is driving on the reef, and is getting out some good stone. We are all anxiously awaiting the result of the Government Geologist's report, which we expect to be favourable.
All bands working at The Forks are on the metal more or 1> ss, but up to the present I have not heard of any sensational find.
