LIVELY PROCEEDINGS.

Wellington, March 1. At the close of Mr FislieFs meeting X l--"with lus constituents, Atdaen the man invited questions to be asked, a Mrs Moss stepped forward and asked, , rwhy doesn’t Mr ; Fisher return me m, the £5 he borrowed of me two years " 'ago ?’ The Chairman said it was not a proper question. Mrs Moss persisted, and advancing near the platform screamed that she would say what she had' to say, and they couldn’t prevent her. Eventually two 1 policemen walked up the hall, and then Mrs Moss was persuaded to sit down. She had annoyed the hon. gentleman several times previously. Mr Fisher has since taken out a summons against Mrs Moss, on the ground of alleged insulting language used on February 4. In a letter to the Post he says he would' not have taken such an extreme step against a woman, but that she had persisted in. molesting him in the streets, and using his wife’s name : after they had befriended her in various ways.

Thomas Carter, one of the principal parties concerned in the disturbances which took place at the meeting of the Knights of -Labour on Wednesday evening, when Mr Fisher occupied .the chair, and at Mr Fisher’s address to the electors on Wednesday evening, j to-day laid an information .against Mr j Fisher, charging him with., using in- 1 suiting remarks to him in .saying: “ You are the biggest sycophant and . lickspittle I ever saw.” The case will.j qe heard on Tuesday, when Mr Fisher’s I action against Mrs Moss also comes on.
